Kaman Art Foundation – Sowing Seeds 2012, Jetpur, Rajasthan, India (Deadline: 9/30/2012)

Eligibility:

- Young and emerging visual artists, performing artists and critics – Artists who are able to stay at village Jetpur for the designated period of time

- Artists who are able to produce results of his or her residence activities, e.g. exhibitions, performances, concerts or presentations

- Artists who are able to communicate and collaborate with local people and participate in the exchange program

Cost: The artists residency will provide the selected artists with full lodging and food, work space, local transportation and a small material stipend.

The key to our Artist residency projects will be creating local community collaboration to create works related to environment and social development in the village Jetpur, Rajasthan (INDIA)

The artist residency will bring together 15 international artists practicing in a wide variety of media, collaboration, outdoor sculpture, documentation, or performing to bring benefit to a specific site and share ideas and methods for a period of 14 days in the village of Pali, Rajasthan (INDIA).

SOWING SEEDS 2012 ( INTERNATIONAL ARTIST VILLAGE RESIDENCY, INDIA)

It’s a great honor for us to invite visual and performing artists and art critics for the ‘Sowing Seeds Artist Village Residency’ in the most colorful State of India, which is known for its rich cultural tradition. The people themselves define the beautiful and varied aspects through different colors.

Visual artists, performing artists, art critics and local community will collaborate to create work about environment and social development in rural Rajasthan (INDIA).There will be opportunities for collaborative work that interacts with the rural environment.

“Sowing Seeds” is a project that intends to create dialogues and exchanges amongst artists beyond their national identity and serves as an opportunity for rural artists to meet, share and exchange ideas, visions, and diverse views in order to create a deeper understanding of art. It acts as a social environment developing and improving the artistic impressions of experts as well as emerging artists. As an alternative art space in INDIA, “Sowing Seeds” is geared to exchange the challenges required to organize such a contemporary artist village residency within rural areas and thus giving rise to a new era in art.

Residency period

- 20th December 2012 to 2nd January 2013 [14-days]

Eligible applicants

- Young and emerging visual artists, performing artists and critics – Artists who are able to stay at village Jetpur for the designated period of time

- Artists who are able to produce results of his or her residence activities, e.g. exhibitions, performances, concerts or presentations

- Artists who are able to communicate and collaborate with local people and participate in the exchange program,

How to apply

- Applicants should fill in all the required fields in the application form

- We will accept applications via e-mail

- Submitted information is only used for selection and not for any other purpose.

Deadline

- Applications must be received by 30th September 2012.

- Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

- Applications will not be accepted if there is any deficiency or if required information is missing.

Results

- Results will be announced in the beginning of 15th October 2012

- All applicants, both successful and unsuccessful, will be informed of the results. A total of 15 artists will be selected.

Photography Grant for Residency in Cordoba, Spain (Deadline: AUG. 31, 2012)

“#006 Grant for Photography”

Who is this grant available for: 
National and International photographers.

Endowment:
1 artist scholarship to be enjoyed from the 1st – 31th of October in La Fragua artist residency, Belalcázar-Córdoba SPAIN

#006 Grant includes:

- Single room in “Casa Manolo” artist house in Belalcázar. Wifi and all house expenses included.

- Shared studio space at the Convent of Santa Clara in Belalcázar.

- Production support: resourcing of all needed supplies for artistic production, trips to local places of interest, communication with the local population, help with realizing
collaboratory projects. (Materials are not included)

- Exhibition/presentation installation for a final show.

- Diffusion of work through our website and social networks.

- #006 Grant does not include meals but all artists who are in residence at La Fragua are free to pick all local organic fruits and vegetables that are growing at the Convent.

The chosen artist agrees to:

- Have an active attitude towards their work.

- Interact with the local people and La Fragua community in a respectful manner honoring a sustainable environment.

Deadline for the call for artists and resolution:

- Application process is open from the 1st till the 31th of August 2012.

- A committee formed by art historians, curators, cultural agents, artists and members of La Fragua will determine who is to receive the grant by September 4th 2012.

Golden Foundation Residency Program, New Berlin, NY (Deadline: 10/29/2012)

Month Long Residencies from April through November

Eligibility: Artists working in paint, 25 years and older, professional

Cost: The fee for a Golden Foundation Residency is $3,500. Financial support is available to help offset residency costs to those applicants able to demonstrate financial need. The amount of financial assistance provided by the Golden Foundation will be determined on a case by case basis. In applying for financial aid, we ask that applicants seriously consider what they will be able to contribute to their residency experience.

The goal of Golden Foundation financial assistance is to ensure that all artists who have been accepted into the residency program can attend, regardless of their financial status. All artists accepted into the residency will receive a generous supply of paint materials and technical support.

Accepted residents are encouraged to seek their own sponsorship funding.
The Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, Inc. is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization.

Please note:

Upon acceptance to the Golden Foundation Residency, a $250 deposit will be required of all residents.
Artists are responsible for the purchase and preparation of their own meals.
Artists should plan to bring their own tools, canvas, and paper. Some canvas and paper will be available
for purchase through the Golden Foundation.
Artists are responsible for their travel and travel expenses to and from the residency.

In 2012 the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts opened its doors to a one-of a-kind artist residency for artists working in paint. In the beautiful rolling hills of central New York and just several hundred yards from the Golden Artist Colors manufacturing facility, a 19th century barn has been transformed into a 21st century artist residency, with large studio spaces and private residency apartments. Artists-in-residence will participate in a completely unique opportunity to explore the widest, most innovative range of materials and technology available today for professional artists working with paint.

THE RESIDENCY
With a greater array of materials available to artists than ever before, this is an exciting time in art history. The Golden Foundation Residency Program is specifically designed to assist the professional artist in discovering and exploring the many materials and technologies available today. Through the Golden Foundation, residents will have the unparalleled opportunity to work with dozens of unique materials and technologies.

SELECTION PROCESS
The Exploratory Residency applicants will be selected through a competitive juried process. The selections will be made by a committee consisting primarily of artists and art professionals of distinction. The committee’s criteria will focus on the quality of the submitted work.
